Same-day day appointments and acute illness
General Internal Medicine encourages all of our patients to contact us if they need a same day appointment or have an urgent acute illness. We are available during our regular business hours to see you for an appointment or advise you about your care. In addition, we work closely with Ballston Urgent Care, our affiliated urgent care and walk in center which is located in our Ballston office building. Their hours of operation are 7:30 AM until 8 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM on Saturday. Since we are affiliated, your medical record information is available for continuity of care. For more information, visit

Welcome to GIMG’s Patient Preferred Access, your 24-hour a day portal to your health care information. We understand that our patients lead busy lives and that it is not always possible to reach us at times convenient to your schedule. Choose from three levels of secure online portal access:

  • Basic: Provides access to your most recent lab test results, in writing. We offer this as a free benefit to our patients
  • Gold: Gives you access to your current and past lab test results, medications lists, and medical history records, and allows you to schedule appointments online. Patients who subscribe can request referrals and receive free prescription refills, avoiding unnecessary appointments, co-pays, and prescription refill fees. Save yourself time and money. $125 / year (just over $10 / month)
  • Platinum: All the benefits of the Gold level, PLUS three "e-Visits" - a secure virtual appointment with your provider. $250 / year.
