The Practitioners of General Internal Medicine Group, P.C. (GIMG), with offices in Ballston and Fairfax, have been committed to providing quality medical care to the Northern Virginia area since 1983. Our staff is composed of board-certified internists, including specialists in Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Cardiology, and certified Physician Assistants.

We take a comprehensive approach to preventive health care; procedures we perform on a regular basis include office gynecology, cardiac stress testing, cardiac echocardiography, flexible sigmoidoscopy (examination of the lower colon), DXA (osteoporosis) studies, and treatment of minor skin problems. We emphasize maintenance of good health through indicated screening tests and appropriate physical examinations, along with following a healthy diet, regular exercise, and avoidance of substances toxic to the body. We also function as medical "detectives" to diagnose difficult and unusual problems.

We also offer cosmetic services for hair removal and skin rejuvenation.

May 1, 2008: General Internal Medicine Group is now accepting new Medicare patients in both offices.

January 30, 2008new: GIMG is now offering Saturday AM appointments at the Fairfax office for any of our patients who are sick or need urgent medical care

  • Appointments will be available from 8:00 AM until 11:45 AM. If you are having a life threatening medical condition call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
  • Please call the office to schedule an appointment.  The telephones will be answered in the office from 8:00 AM until 12:00PM.  There will be two medical practitioners, one of whom is the on-call physician, available for appointments.
  • We will be offering a limited number of preventive health exams (complete physical) for any patient who may wish to be seen on a Saturday.  Patients who schedule for a physical on a Saturday will be seeing the available practitioner of the day.
  • We will not be performing routine services on Saturdays which includes routine lab draws, injections, Coumadin/protime checks, or other services of this kind by the medical assistants.
  • In order to offer this Saturday service to as many patients as possible, it is important that you notify us if you are unable to keep your appointment.
  • The Fairfax office will not be open the Saturday of office holiday weekends: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
January 21, 2008: Two new practitioners will be joining us shortly:

Please welcome Jenora Jolly, MD. She will be seeing patients in our Ballston office starting Tuesday, March 4.
Also, please welcome Reade Bush, PA-C. He will be seeing patients in our Fairfax office starting Monday, February 11.
January 14, 2008: Lauren Cox, PA-C will be leaving our practice, and and will be moving out of state. We are grateful for her years of dedicated patient care with GIMG, and wish her the best of luck with her move!
October 18, 2007: General Internal Medicine Group will no longer be adminstering allergy shots. Patients previously receiving allergy shots at our offices will be contacted to make arrangements through their own allergist.
